Review of Buffalo '66 (1998) by Keaton P — 01 Dec 2009
Viewing from a point of second corrected vision, I am able to realize the starring glory of Gallo's film. A page turner by the guidelines of the New Wave, the cinema comes to life in a visual, often times unneeded excess.
Indulging, introspective, and wounded from birth, Gallo shows insight into his troubled past. Christina Ricci also taking cue from the eye candy of Godard and Co. plays a porcelain shelled simpleton looking for something in a world where something is all the rage.
Buffalo 66's concern is not in story or arch, but more of a documentation comprised of visual splendor.
