A troubled kid lets go of his past--ending a dangerous cycle of violence before it really takes hold. Making stupid "all or nothing" bets on football games or girls can waste a good 5 years of your life (or more), if you're not careful.
By the end, Vincent realizes that he can be immensely happy with his current circumstances.
