Review of Buffalo '66 (1998) by Paul J — 17 Jun 2013
A brilliant character study that evokes Cassavetes. Gallo's debut is brave, original and hilarious. It also happens to have an extraordinary cast. The single shot that sums up the entire film, is the poster image - the photos taken while they're in the photo box.
It's a portrait of two young lovers. But instead of the romantic cliche, we get a screwed up relationship. How can these two possibly work it out? That is true love.
