Review of Buffalo '66 (1998) by Cat B — 10 Nov 2008
Buffalo '66 is probably my new favourite movie. I hadn't heard of Vincent Gallo, until now, but I think Christina Ricci is precious and I love the films she stars in - not to mention, she looks so young in this one! Vincent Gallo stars as the character Billy Brown and Christina Ricci stars as the character, Layla. Billy is apparently a C.I.A. agent who works for the government, all the girls love him and even the President of the United States is impressed with him. Only Billy's not really in the C.I.A., and his 'wife' Layla is actually a young tap dancer he just kidnapped to impress his unloving parents. 'Thirty years, l haven't missed a game. They haven't won the championship since l missed that game, 'cause that's the day l had Billy. Oh, l wish l never had him.' To be honest, Billy's life is shit. He's free out of prison and now on a misson to kill the Buffalo Bills kicker, who missed the goal during the Super Bowl which cost Billy $10,000. He believes that this is what ruined his life. Now that he has a hostage, Layla may ruin what Billy has been waiting five years to do after his release from prison.
One more thing: 'Spanning time'. Hahaha, that was the best... fucking hilarious.
"Don't believe the hype?" Fuck that, this is fucking brilliant!
