Review of Buddy Boy (2000) by Sarah A — 28 Jun 2007
The film possesses interesting visuals with a rich, dark, and foreboding atmosphere... yet has a plot that goes absolutely nowhere. It's earnest, I will give it that, but the script simply provokes questions and never gives answers (and no, this is not a "Mulholland Drive" with the answers embedded within the text).
Francis thinks his neighbor is part of a cannibalistic cult... but she isn't... wait, she is... nope, he's crazy... wait, he's the cannibal... wait, there isn't any... hold on, is it actually her? Oh, it was all a dream.
.. Wait, it wasn't? It was both? Neither? By the end, you will be asking "Who cares?!".
