Review of Bud Abbott and Lou Costello Meet Frankenstein (1948) by Warren P — 16 Apr 2009

Well you can say what you want about this movie but Iâ??m telling you this is a classic. It took 3 of the most famous monsters of all and put them together with arguably the funniest duo of all time and the result was pure and simple laughter and lots of it.

It even had the original actors playing the monsters they made famous with the exception of Boris Karloff because he did not appreciate them making a mockery of his beloved Frankenstein monster. But he lost out because the movie was still a major hit without him.

It also put Universal Studios back on the map after several disappointing bombs. Very funny movie from start to finish, ending with a brief visit from a fourth classic monster. A+ for me.
