Review of Bud Abbott and Lou Costello Meet Frankenstein (1948) by Bobby D — 02 Oct 2010
As for as classic comic pairings go I really like the 3 Stooges & the Marx Brother; even a little Laurel & Hardy. Abbott & Costello is probably @ the bottom of the list. I used to watch a bit of them on Sunday morning TV when I was a kid but they never made me laugh like the others.
This is probably their best outing & it mainly due to the classic Universal monsters. Just about everybody is back (if only Boris Karloff returned the wrap around would be better). It's not great but it is good fun especially for fans.
I thought it was great to see Lon Chaney Jr (there just wasn't enough Wolfman movies) & Bela Lugosi...It's too bad there never was a 3 Stooges Meets Frankenstein but my luck it would have Curly Joe in it.
