Review of Bud Abbott and Lou Costello Meet Frankenstein (1948) by Curtis R — 30 Oct 2010
Being a huge Abbott & Costello fan, this is unarguably my favorite film from the pair. They play Chick & Wilbur a couple of bungling baggage handlers who lose the supposed remains of Dracula & the Frankenstein Monster who were enroute to be part of a showman's house of horrors.
The only problem is they walked away and have plans for the simple Wilbur. That's where Dracula's lovely assistant Dr. Sandra Mornay(played by the lusciously beautiful Lenore Aubert)comes in to seduce Wilbur back to Dracula's castle and put Wilbur's simple gentle brain into the body of the Frankenstein monster.
Standing in way of their diabolical plan is Chick, Larry Talbot a.k.a. The Wolfman, Insurance Investigator Joan Raymond, and Mornay's assistant Professor Stevens in what ensues in a hilarious battle between Dracula & the Wolfman and Frankenstein & the boys.
A classic horror comedy from the end of Universal's horror heyday.
