Buck Brannaman is the man behind the inspiration for the film The Horse Whisperer. This documentary by Cindy Meehl follows Buck as he teaches clinics across the United States.

I'm not much a rodeo person or even really a horse person. I have some relatives that love horses and even some that own a few. But I personally never really had any connection to them. Anyone that loves horses or even animals in general is going to really appreciate what Buck Brannaman teaches and how he treats these animals.

One of the most popular quotes in this film from Buck really sticks with you.

"Your horse is a mirror to your soul, and sometimes you may not like what you see. Sometimes, you will.".

Not only do I feel that it's a true statement for horse owners. But for all animal owners. Our pets really do look to up to us. Sometimes its for comfort and sometimes it's for food. But our behavior towards our animals will always have a impact on their life. I've hat my cat Smokey for over 15 years. That cat is young at heart just like myself. She's a spoiled princess and cuddles with me everytime I watch TV. I can tell that I'm the reason that cat is still alive and loves her little cat life. And I'm thankful for that.

It's really hard not to watch this film with a cat or dog in your lap. It's a very touching film about Buck Brannaman's life. He's been through a rough childhood but it's made him a better person. I only wish that everyone in the world with a troubled past could all turn out to be Buck in their own special way.

This is by far the best Documentary of 2011 and as of now it's one of my favorite films of 2011. It's out on DVD now.
