Tired premise drains would be plot into squandered potential. Going in I didn't expect much, coming out I feel that not too uncommon feeling I get nowadays when I see a film that didn't even try to save itself, but could have, at any point if it wanted to.
Instead, we're left with this. I gotta say if you can't do comedy with a story about a boy in a bubble then maybe comedy just ain't your thing. Jake Gyllenhaal obviously learned that lesson from this.
Perhaps one day, God willing, Hollywood will learn that lesson too.
