Review of Bubba Ho-tep (2002) by Sofia T — 05 Sep 2009
A hilariously original horror comedy, and I'm not sure how to rate it. It all takes place in a resting home, where an elderly Elvis Presley and a black man claiming to be JFK find themselves battling an ancient, soul-sucking Egyptian mummy.
It's of course a b-movie, but it's so very intended to be just that, which somehow makes it work. The acting is under any circumstances great, and some of the dialog... simply hilarious. Although, at times the tempo is a bit too dull.
I think I'll give Bubba Ho-Tep three weakly shining stars.
