Review of Bubba Ho-tep (2002) by Gavin S — 28 Jan 2010
Bruce Campbell is nearly too funny for words. Great turn as an aging Elvis who traded places with an Elvis impersonator ("only problem was he loved drugs more than me and had a bad heart") and is now living in a Rest Home in Texas.
Along with the late great Ossie Davis who thinks he is JFK 'dyed' black, they have come across the ancient soul sucking mummy who's stealing the souls of their rest home companions by sucking them out their asses (or other orifices in some cases).
Comedy Horror at it's most off the wall, yet credit to Campbell and Davis for playing it straight the whole time. Great fun to watch Elvis 'TCB' on the 'Soul-Sucking Sum Bitch'.
