Review of Bubba Ho-tep (2002) by Leong C — 24 Jan 2011
A small part of me kind of understands why this is considered, in some cirlcles, a cult classic - it teeters on the edge of the 'so bad it's good' classification. That said, a larger part of me recognises that this is a dire film and, whilst I could never have come up with the original concept (I've never been that drunk or high), I'm pretty sure I could have written most of the dialogue in a couple of hours.
There are a few chucklesome moments and I'm sure fans of horror B-movies will find some of the in-jokes to their liking (not least the lead-performance from their very own 'King' Bruce Campbell), but I'm afraid it didn't really float my boat.
