A great prison drama. burt lancaster does a great job playing a hardened criminal who's got no problem with killing snitches! a remarkable bleak and nihilistic vision by director jules dassin. interesting that the problems of this prison 62 years ago seem to be the same as now.
I guess the penal system hasn't changed much...
