Review of Brüno (2009) by Kip M — 23 Jun 2011
I watched this on HBO tonight. Some of it was censored. Most of it wasn't. Cohen has some balls on him if he's actually going into situations like he does without the interviewee actually knowing who he really is or the whole thing being staged.
I'll say I laughed quite a bit at some of his crude humor, and he can really make the viewer feel real uncomfortable, but he's also exposing contrasting cultural ideology. Ali G was my favorite of the three. Borat and Bruno tie for second.
