Apart from a couple of insane setpieces towards the end, it fails to capture the anarchic, effortless hilarity of Borat. It still made me laugh, but it was too plot-heavy, with too many dull, unfunny scripted scenes.

I do love, though, that something this transgressive and extreme is now considered mainstream. That's the best thing about it.
