What made Borat so good was that is straddled the line of offensiveness, raunchiness and humor so damn well. You can see how Bruno tried to straddle that same line but fell a bit short and was a bit too offensive, a bit too raunchy and wasn't as funny.
And it's not the character Bruno, because if you've seen the show...Bruno, Borat and Ali G are all equals for the most part...this movie just wasn't nearly as well written as Borat.
