Review of Bruiser (2000) by Bob O — 05 Nov 2007
As much as people bag this movie, itâ??s the last picture I consider that he directed (yes, Iâ??m not too fond of that other Dead picture....more on that later). Have you ever felt like youâ??ve been walked on by your boss, your â??best friendâ??, or even your spouse? Have you ever wanted to do something about those feelings? Well, Henry Creedlow (played by Jason Flemyng) sure felt that way.
...and, wouldnâ??t you know it, he definitely did something about it. One day, Henry wakes up with an odd white mask covering his face. The mask is emotionless and hides his true identity (which, many of the people in his life never knew anyway, so whatâ??s the difference).
Using his newfound anonymity, Henry begins to dish out some cold servings of revenge on the people whoâ??ve taken advantage of him. In the supporting cast, youâ??ve Peter Stormare and Tom Atkins (how can you go wrong?!?) and, of course, The Misfits (in a bit cameo at the end.
...gotta love their two main songs, â??Screamâ?? and â??Descending Angelâ?? in the picture as well).
