Review of Brotherly Love (2015) by Nadieha P — 29 Nov 2017
This is a realistic and relatable Philadelphia story about a star basketball player named Sergio Taylor. While he attends the famous Overbrook High School he tries to navigate his way through the trials and tribulations he faces his senior year.
Sergio and his siblings experience life changing events through-out the movie while they all try to make a better future for themselves. Jackie, his sister begins dating her new boyfriend Chris who is from the rival side "the hill" un-liked by their brother at first but, he will later grow fond of him.
His well respected brother, June who is from "the bottom" is involved in the ongoing city side and drug related drama. June's drama causes their mother to gain injury and while they try to stick together Jackie discovers life transforming information.
Sergio tries to overcome it all by focusing on his future in basketball but, when money runs low he is peer pressured into another hustle. The plot is drama fulfilling without a dull moment making you want to cling on to every scene.
The twisted, surprising, and unexpected ending will leave you in awe.
