Review of Brotherhood of the Wolf (2001) by Jovonne B — 05 Aug 2010
Now here is a movie with something for everyone who like me, enjoys action, period movies, werewolves and mystery and a wit that is not your everyday humor.
The stunning scenery and cinematography were worth the entire movie alone.
The cast was brilliant and the action sequences worth my not chewing my chocolate or popcorn.
The actresses beautiful, the dramatic storyline just enough to captivate without bogging us down in emotional baggage and the characters fascinating and well developed.
I watch this movie over and over and never tire of its originality.
The quality of this movie can teach a lesson to American filmmakers about what original can mean.
Blending techniques and genres proved stimulating and engaging in this instance and there is nothing like this movie I have ever seen.
The two main characters are believable as having a relationship and when one dies...you feel the pain..you understand the need for revenge and it is not like other dramatic tragedies where you don't care. You care as you very much like the man who dies...and you are very much invested in his life and tragic demise.
The crazy gypsy who has seizures also engages you and you almost believe she will become a love interest.
Everything about this movie is unique and anyone who does not get it..needs to reclassify their psychological perspective and enjoy the scenery if nothing else.
I keep this movie in my watch often pile. I appreciate more and more the subtle aspects of the film sch as the elaborate dinner setting, the funny banter between the characters and the plot twist...ending magnificent.
There is perfection in the character resolution...nothing hanging and the timing is this movie is impeccable.
