Review of Brotherhood of the Wolf (2001) by Kathrin Z — 20 Jan 2008
Bears a strong visual resemblance to the Terry Gilliam remix of an old Mylène Farmer video, except less fluid in movement. Predictable but fun to watch - for everyone, I should say; features a monster-or-not, very green forest, a couple of couples of tits, a random (well, his unlikely presence IS explained) Native American with Martial Arts superpowers, and some fresh-faced long-haired lads for the ladies (perhaps with the exception of one-armed Vincent Cassel, who is such a powderful creep throughout that you almost want him to turn out a proper nice chap, although indeed one of his earliest scenes screams REMEMBER THIS OH-SO-TRIVIAL DETAIL, IT SHALL SOLVE ALL and thus such hopes should never have arisen).
