Review of Brotherhood of the Wolf (2001) by Bastet 0 — 30 Oct 2008
The main review of this movie (here on flixter) is completely teh suck. I can't believe the person was watching the same movie as me. "Ignore the highbrow philosophizing and confused political intrigue; just enjoy the sensual images." is the worst piece of advice once could give going into this movie.
It reminds me of seeing this in the theatre and half the audience walking out because it was subtitled. Their loss. I love this movie- and I was surprised to see the Scifi channel's 'Crow" (Mark Dacascos) in a non-cheesy role.
It has my favorite, Monica Bellucci (though I think some things were lost in translation as her involvement wasn't entirely clear). A good action mystery set in old France- for anyone who is a fan of any actor in this film, or even poetic action (as odd as that sounds) this is a must see. The plotline is unique and it reads as a fable, as was the intention.
