Review of Brotherhood of the Wolf (2001) by Charles L — 15 May 2010
The historical accuracy missed the point a mile away in which the french knew kung fu for some reason. Yet the whole presentation of the film was what I actually enjoyed and didnt end up being hokey for some reason. The plot line was pretty good.
To me, It wasnt corny, it wasnt over the top, it wasnt dumb, but had these hybrid avant garde, macabre, historical, and exotic styles that I always enjoy in films. I even enjoyed the action in this one as well. It was also suspenceful.
The film was a guilty pleasure that made me forget about kung fu frenchies in a period piece which was ok with me.
In other words, I bought into it. and it was awesome.
