Review of Brotherhood of the Wolf (2001) by Ollie W — 24 Aug 2010
If your looking for an extremely flamboyant, period set, Wolf-Man-Beast-woman slaying -crooked-armed sister rapist- themed french epic then by all means, give it a shot.
Its wildly entertaining and hilariously directed (I think every kind of posh editing tool is used to full effect throughout - none of which are appropriate - the super duper quality slow-mo being a possible exception.) The cast seem to be completely out of control, with wild monologues issuing here, there and everywhere whilst wonderful over-the-top dramatics ( Cassel is particularly guilty this time - though I think he probably wasnt taking this project toooo seriously, by the looks of things.) give the whole affair a touch of the carry-on.
Otherwise, I think it's probably best to give this bad boy a miss.
