Review of Brother Orchid (1940) by Landen C — 27 Jun 2008
As much as I love the screen pairing of Robinson and Bogart, this film felt more like a sitcom than a motion picture. It was great to see Bogart play a character that can finally stand up against Robinson (until the later Key Largo.
) But all in all, this "gangster" picture was too aware of itself in a time when the gangster genre was losing its steam.
