Review of Brother Bear (2003) by Bethany F — 14 Oct 2008
Brother Bear had a very classic Disney that only the very first few films had and it was also radically different from anything I've seen by the company in quiet sometime.
There is a savage nature to this film, with the amount of time that is spent on revenge and death.
The animation is superbly done also which I admire since Disney's animation has been lacking beautifully done films for a while now.
That's in my personal opinion.
Though I am sure there is a lot of computer animated scenes in the film, it is still beautifully rendered.
The characters are very complex and very real, even though some of them are animals, except the moose that is.
They're just 2 Canadian moose... like 2 Canadian guys.
The music was really well done for this film as well, and I did really enjoy the story behind the entire film.
I was surprised that one of the brothers was killed so quickly during the beginning of the film, I supposed someone would die, since it is a Disney film, but I'm much more sued to seeing Disney poach their mothers than other family members.
So that was an unexpected piece, especially since the brother knows what he is doing will probabley kill him but he has to save his brother or they'll all die.
The bears in the film were really awesome, they were animated near perfectly and each bear (even of the same breed) was drawn differently and had its own sense of individuality.
I really enjoyed this film, I think its a bit too advanced for a younger viewer, but it was still really well conceived.
