Review of Brother Bear (2003) by Ma Gregoria T — 03 Aug 2012
For me, Love is the core of this movie and it moved me with so much tears over and over again every time I watched it.
I am not into Hinduism but Love is expressed very profoundly in this movie. I never expected Kenai would choose to be a bear for love of Koda; to be a brother bear than a human brother. I can't help but reflect upon this story: Just as Christ, God as He is , out of His love for humanity, came down from heaven and chose to live with us; to be one of us. He didn't need to abandon heaven or his kingdom to prove He is God but God's love is a mystery; it is capable of stripping off his kingship, he is ready to embrace our humanity: the human complexes, struggles and sufferings. What can be greater than that?
They say, you don't need to change a thing for someone who really loves you or for someone that you love but this movie transcends that perception.
