Review of Brother Bear (2003) by Lauren W — 06 Sep 2008

This movie was amazing to be an animated movie and I would give this movie a 5 if I had to rate it. This movie is about spirits and living on after the afterlife. In this Native American family there?s a person that goes to the mountain where the lights touch the earth to find out what your spiritual totem would be.

You get this totem when you reach a certain age and become an adult. At this point of your life everyone is trying to get their marking or hand print on the wall alone with their ancestors. There are three brothers in this movie the two older brothers already have their totem and the younger brother is getting his totem and hoping it would be something amazing.

Then he finds out that it?s a bear totem and it stand for love. At this point of the movie the younger brother is upset about his totem and fights with one of his older brothers and then they realize the fish that the younger brother hung up has been taken by a bear.

The older brothers run after the younger one when he goes to find the bear that took the fish. In the process of the younger brother fighting with the bear the older brother dies trying to save is younger brothers from the bear.

The younger brother is so upset at this point he finds the bear and kills it and his older brother that die spirit comes down and change him into the bear. Because the bear that he kills is a mother bear with a cub not knowing what?s going on the only brother that he has left living thinks that the bear has now killed his younger brother and set out to kill the bear.

The spirit lady now has found the younger brother as a bear and told him that his older brother has turn him into a bear and the only way to turn back into himself is to find mountain where the light touches the earth.

In the process of finding the mountain he runs into the cub of the bear that he killed and the cub helps him find the mountain. When he get to the mountain his brother shows him why he turns him into a bear and he has to choose if he wants to remind a bear or become human again.

At the end he chose to remind a bear because the little cub doesn?t have a family. The middle brother now realizes that the bear he has been chasing is really his younger brother and the spirits has done this to him.

Now the younger brother can come back and put his marking on the wall like the great ones before him.
