Plot summary.
The movie, Brother Bear, is based on three brothers that are striving for the youngest brother to become a man in their indigenous Native religion. The Shaman gives all three brothers a symbol to represent them after their ceremony and the youngest brother goes against their rituals and something strange happens to him. The oldest brother sacrifices his life to save the younger two with a fight with a bear and the brothers seek revenge. The second brother is represented by being wise and tries to show acts of wisdom by giving the youngest brother Kenai guidance to help him fight his anger with the death of the oldest brother and following the traditions. Kenai gets transformed to a bear and sacrifices his life and learns the meaning of the symbol that the shaman gives to him "love".
World Religion.
This movie relates to World religion in a numerous of ways. It explains the meanings and sacrifices of the indigenous Native American religion. They had ceremonies that are very traditional and sacred. The people in this movie respect and worship the Great Spirit, which is considered a higher being in the world of religions. When worshipped, the people in the movie had their axis mundi, which refers to a holy ground to most religions in the world where one shares their beliefs with one another. Each Religion has a Holy place to pray or worship and a leader to conduct the ritual in a spiritual manner or holy in some religions. This is a Shaman or sometimes called priest or rabbi. They are the experts in the crowd to guides the individuals to their light.
The Indigenous Religion in the film has many similarities as the African indigenous Religions because the Spirits and the nature of the people are so natural and traditional. Everything in the circle of life is respected and has such true meaning to go along with life. There is meaning and connection with animals and objects in the spirit world in the African and Native American religion. The many myths in all world religions including indigenous religions are special to the religions due to the strong belief and practices that a Persons character may sacrifice or devote their lifestyle to as a way of life. Also in some cases, there are connections to the dead and the living creatures and there is a supernatural energy to guide us all.
