Brother Bear is a story set in the period when the world was just emerging from the last Ice Age and tells the story of three brothers in an Indian tribe, one of which learns a valuable life lesson about revenge and forgiveness. The youngest of the brothers, Kenai witnesses a bear maul and kill his oldest brother. He is consumed by grief and anger and takes his revenge by killing the bear. The indigenous people believe that everything in the world is balanced and that theory is proven in this movie when Kenai is turned into a bear by ancient spirits. The second oldest brother, Denahi, sees Kenai in the wild after he is transformed and believes Kenai to be dead and the bear he sees is the one responsible. Throughout the movie, Denahi ruthlessly pursues Kenai, trying to kill him and avenge his brother, wanting his own revenge. Kenai's only hope of surviving this ordeal is to learn to survive by learning to live as his worst enemy, a grizzly bear. He is granted a guide by the spirits, a young cub named Koda, who helps protect him while he's learning the meaning of being a true brother. After avoiding the dangers of being hunted throughout the movie, Kenai learns valuable life lessons with the help of Koda and his spirit guides.

This movie relates to world religions by following closely one of the main lessons in indigenous peoples beliefs-everything deserves respect and every action has an effect on the world.
