Typical Disney sequel. That is to say stupid, hurried, moronic, completely unnecessary and full of plot twists that completely undermine the messages of the original movie. The first Brother Bear movie was about finding a family with someone not of your own blood, not even of your own species, accepting responsibility and learning to live with the circumstances.
In this movie Kenai (Patrick Dempsey) has learned nothing from the first film and his action are dictated by the needs of the plot. Sometimes he's an okay guy if the movie needs a warm, heartfelt scene.
Sometimes he's a total douche if the movie needs him to be one. There is no consistency, logic or reason. Plus the final solution to the movie's big conflict was... idiotic. Do the Great Spirits not know how to turn someone into human, because that would have been the most logical solution? I mean, I get that the movie is called Brother BEAR, but that doesn't mean that everything has to be about bears.
.. But, the movie's animation was surprisingly decent for a Disney sequel, the comic reliefs were at least average most of the time and the movie wasn't purposefully harmful or anything. So yeah, if you absolutely loved the first film.
.. Don't see this one. I cannot recommend this to anyone, but it's not awful really. It's just not very good.
