One of the most straightforward films I've ever seen - in the 1950s, an Irish girl moves to Brooklyn. There's your plot. Thoroughly winsome, devoid of twists, turns, and about as edgy as a bar of soap, Brooklyn is nevertheless 100% lovely and completely worth it - Saoirse Ronan is astounding.
