Review of Brooklyn (2015) by Michael S — 26 Jan 2017
We loved this wonderful and surprising movie, and I found myself in tears much of the time. So tired of movies that are all about special effects and technical expertise while leaving plot lines , character development and human emotion on the cutting room floor.
My wife is from Poland and came to Canada as a political refuge in 1986 and many of the scenes hit home to her especially the feelings of home sickness and loneliness. The actress did a great job in conveying these feelings and really connected with us.
10/10 in our book and maybe some Academy Awards.
