Review of Brooklyn (2015) by Jules R — 19 Feb 2016
Loved this film. Many scenes brought tears to my eyes - not because the film is manipulative, but because it's so filled with the human experience. I found myself thinking of what my grandparents went through when they immigrated to the US from Eastern Europe in the 1900s - and the film isn't set in the 1900s and it's not about Eastern Europeans.
It's about leaving home and finding your own place in the world.
