Just saw it. I went because of the very positive reviews. I thought it was more like a very well done short story, than the saga I expected (just my own expectations). Lot's of very good acting and dialog, but I think it was a tremendous showpiece for Ms Ronan's talents, and her beautifully expressive face.
I did think that happy ending with her returning from Ireland, where a deep and interesting romance was just budding, and flopping into her Italian American husbands arms, was too simple and abrupt . I guess I just thought the Irish man was a better match.
