Review of Brooklyn (2015) by Ginak — 23 Nov 2015
It is hard to hate this movie. It is a pleasant film with a very fine performance by Saoirse Ronan and an excellent supporting cast. You are not bored. You don’t go into a diabetic coma. Yet in the end you say to yourself – this is not real life.
There is no drama and very little suspense. The streets are clean (they weren’t then and they aren’t now) and everyone just gets along so well. As I said, this is not real life. So if you want a pleasant evening with no insight, suspense, or drama, then this film is for you.
