I wanted to root for the Irish lass and her Italian boyfriend but this fell flat for me. The struggles seemed contrived and I'm not even sure why they liked each other. "I like Irish girls," isn't enough for me, and makes the male lead seem less than sincere.

Great period piece however, including the Selfridge-like department store the lass works in.
