Review of Brooklyn (2015) by Emma S — 09 Mar 2016
Make more like this! at last! a film about ordinary lives, about character and not plot, about what the reality was probably like for lots of young irish women moving to the US. touching, gentle, tender, beautifully shot and lacking the sensationalist, lowest-common-demoniator shock tactics of just about every film I see these days.
for once a film about women, sisters, mothers and landladies. excellent.
