Review of Brooklyn (2015) by Kiwi B — 05 Aug 2016
A perfect portrait of an introvert thrust into a completely new world and struggling to make sense of it all. Captures the emotions of emigrating, homesickness, and the knowledge of a great distance between oneself and one's family exceptionally well.
The second half seemed weaker to me, but overall a beautiful, contemplative film. Saoirse Ronan was truly stunning in some shots, and really inhabited the character well.
