Review of Bronson (2009) by Kevin H — 12 Feb 2012
Weird and stupid. It reminded me of A Clockwork Orange but with prison fighting. I don't get why Refn would make a pointless movie like this. It's about Britain's most violent prisoner: so what? You could have given the script to any director and no matter how hard they tried, none of them would've been able to make this gripping.
I don't mind black humor, but this is just plain bad. Tom Hardy does his best with the role he is given. Seeing Refn go from this to Drive is one hell of a transition. Don't waste your time with this pointless British biopic.
