Review of Bronson (2009) by Matthew G — 21 Sep 2011
Excellent, very stylized film by Nicolas Winding Refn, the director of "Drive", another excellent film in theatres right now. Very violent, but not particularly graphic nor excessive, considering the story and themes.
Right from the beginning and throughout the film I thought often of "Chopper" - the great Australian film that launched Eric Bana's career, and "Train Spotting" - which launched the careers of both Ewan MacGregor and the director Danny Boyle.
I think I'll revisit them both soon, But first I'll watch the film by Refn that he made in between these two - "Valhalla Rising".
