Review of Bronson (2009) by Steve E — 19 Dec 2011
A brilliant performance by Tom Hardy, and great intensely subtle acting by newcomer Juliet Oldfield as his girlfriend. Theatre on film, stylized, hilarious, violent. An obvious showcase for the directors love of theatrical arts.
But unfortunately the main character has no arc, remains an insane psychopath, and has no self-realization, so my question is, why make a film about him at all? Still, thunderously brilliant performance by Tom Hardy who should have won a BAFTA for Best Actor IMO.
