Review of Bronson (2009) by Anthony S — 22 Aug 2014
Fascinating, lurid and highly stylized biopic of the man known as Britain's most notorious prisoner. The subject matter can be queasy, but that's the point: the film's magnetic pull derives from a man for whom violence and antisocial behavior is as natural to him as breathing air.
The approach is frequently reminiscent of "A Clockwork Orange." Tom Hardy's performance in the title role is, as you'd expect, superb.
