Review of Bronson (2009) by Rob M — 18 Jul 2016
Usually I find biopics as thrilling as reading Cliff's Notes, since they're squeezing an entire life into about 90 minutes of film, but this was pretty good. It was not unlike Casablanca in that it was an aptly and efficiently told story without any mistakes, and the pieces that tend to destroy biopics (flashbacks, explanation) etc.
were niftily done through vaudeville-like acts and exceptional monologues by Tom Hardy. Is Tom Hardy the most underrated actor today? Maybe. He's awfully good.
