Review of Broken Sky (2006) by Saman R — 07 Jul 2009
It is very poetic. it hovers between reality and unreality, dream and awake.
It is indeed very boring and quiet, almost zero dialogues like a silent film. but it is more than the silent films.
Most films speak tons of dialogues and most of them are rubbish. Wordlessness speaks volumes and echoes stronger, like this film does.
The first two hours or one and a half hours are way too long and driving me nuts! the best part for me is at the end which is about 20 min or 30 min I guess.
I really love the ending of this film which has two! it's so poetic, powerful, and emotional.
I dont like the main character, Gerardo, after all. That is what I think that is the main failure of this film. I dont know if anyone agree??
