Review of Broken Flowers (2005) by Louise S — 20 Jul 2008
There are a lot of excellent actors in this movie; most of them don't play a big part. Bill Murray as the major charcter however do and he is amazing. Most of the characters in this movie are broken in some way, just like the title implies.
It is a beautiful movie and the plot traps you as a viewer. You, just like Don, want to find out the truth. Don is a fascinating character, who in the beginning seems completely uninterested in finding out anything about his son.
However, as he travels the country to search for clues to which one of his old girlsfriends might be the mother of his son, he starts to realise that he may in fact be happy to find out that he's a father.
He finds out that there might be something missing in his life. The open ending annoyed me, but it left me thinking about the movie for days, so I now realise that I liked this movie more than I first thought.
