Review of Broken Flowers (2005) by Janne T — 24 Oct 2008
Quentin Tarantino once said in an interview that an opening music should be something saying 'We're big!'. In Broken Flowers the opening song 'There is an End' by Holly Golightly and The Greenhornes (who are in any case beyond awesome) does exactly that.
It initializes the mood for lingering pictures showing once-a-playboy's small scale odyssey through the States. And yes, There Is a Believable End, almost as baffling as in No Country for Old Men.
