Review of Broken Flowers (2005) by Pamela K — 07 Aug 2013
Had me interested beginning to end. Bill Murrays character seems to be a loner someone who is quiet but yet doesn't know his place in life in future he only knows the present. when he receives a letter in the mail with no return address saying he has an 18 year old son he visits four former lovers to find out who the mother is.
After visiting all four he never does get an answer. The ending is one that leaves it to the viewer to decide. he sees someone who he thinks could be his son but when he asks the kid gets spooked and runs away leaving Murray to wonder what was the point of his journey.
was the letter true? does he have a son. was the letter created by a friend to get him out of his lonely funk. to me the viewer can decide. great performance by the quiet Murray.
