Review of Broken English: Three Songs by Marianne Faithfull (1979) by Anthony S — 19 Oct 2007
If you are a single woman, you MUST see this movie. It's different from your typical romantic comedy because it's not just about finding love, it's about finding yourself. But be warned, it's not exactly a comedy as marketed.
It has its funny moments, but it's downright depressing at times, perhaps because the situations hit too close to home. I don't ever remember feeling so inspired by a movie. In fact, seeing "Broken English" has made me consider quitting my job, cashing out my 401(k) and moving to Paris.
