Review of Broken English: Three Songs by Marianne Faithfull (1979) by Lolas M — 22 May 2008
I'll admit, I only saw this movie because Parker Posey is in it, and I adore her. And, truth be told, she was by far the best part of this movie. This movie was quirky, memorable, with outstanding characters, and believeable plot.
However, it had ABSOLUTELY NO RESOLUTION whatsoever. Moreover, it did not prepare me, the audience, to expect no resolution, nor did it have one of those "hint at but do not give" resolutions.
It just stopped. There was a good half hour of movie left. I guess it's a testament to how much I liked the first 80 minutes that the last 10 minutes made me want another 30... but the lack of ending was so horrendous that it utterly frustrated me.
